I am so grateful to our community for supporting students in our Chromebook 1:1 program as well as all the other technology that we have access to here at MTHS. Additionally, many students have their own personal technology – iPhones, laptops, etc. – that can greatly enhance learning. Therefore, students are expected to use mature, sound judgment when accessing technology. I contend that instead of establishing strict punitive policies discouraging technology, I believe this class is a great place to learn that there is an appropriate time to fully take advantage of these tools. Initially, gentle reminders will be given to students who use technology in a manner detrimental to our learning environment, but subsequent offenses will be addressed more seriously

Attendance is taken within the first 10 minutes of class. Arriving later requires an office pass. Regular attendance is critical to your success in any class, especially as the majority of work will occur during class. Please do all you can to be in class daily, on time, ready to learn, and contribute.

You and your family should check Canvas to keep track of what’s going on if you’re gone, and communicate with me as soon as you are able.

Grades reflect your competency and should encourage your growth and accountability throughout the learning process. Advocate for yourself and communicate regularly about any concerns.

  • Grades are weighted – see Canvas for the break down.
  • Each student should monitor their grades throughout the course in both Canvas and Skyward.
  • Passing grades range from “A” to “D.” If you do not meet standard, you will receive an “F” an “I” or a “NY” (not yet).
  • An “I” grade for a grading term may be changed to a letter grade by completing unfinished work or by redoing unsatisfactory work. However, “I” grades are rarely granted. A semester “F” grade may be changed by retaking the course

Remember the class motto: “Do What You Can, When You Can, As Best you Can.” I encourage and support appropriate communication of issues as they arise. Accommodations may be available if you respectfully communicate any exceptional circumstance in advance of the due date.

Generally speaking 7-10% late penalty, and resubmitting (if the original is on time) grade can value up to 95%

Office hours are available by appointment arranged by request.

Please use Canvas messages 📬 (inbox) to contact me.

In addition to the handouts provided in class, you can find all the assignment details in our Canvas class

Families, Modules navigation is key for seeing the full picture of an assignment, while grades can give you insight as to if an item has been submitted, or if I have left comments for the student on the assignment.

To contact me directly we ask that students exclusively use Canvas messages 📬 (inbox).

Families who have Canvas observer accounts are welcome to do the same. If you have not set up a Canvas observer account (which I highly recommend) you may reach out using the school email address Le*****@ed*****.edu to reach me.

As I use Canvas to manage and make all content digitally available to students, that is often the most up to date as I only sync the system with Skyward once a week.

Skyward is the official grades and both midterm and term grades are transmitted from Canvas and locked in on report dates.

say hi.

Parent’s are advised to do the same – or email directly (information in skyward).

About Mz. Lee

Hello and welcome!

I am so excited for this year, as this is my second year teaching at MTHS, even though this year I am a floating substitute.  I am an MTHS grad myself, class of ’97. I am also a Terrace Mom. My eldest daughters graduated in 2018 and 2022 respectively, and this year I have both a sophomore and a brand new freshman here. My youngest child is also nearby at BTMS. I live close by, only a mile from my parents, and 2 from the school. I am an Edmonds school district lifer. You may well see me at local shops. *GASP*

While teaching is not my first career, it was always my dream job and my first choice. I took a winding road to get here, but I think the experiences I have had along the way have made me the best teacher I can be. I can’t wait to get to know you as well
